Inspired by the early photography of Wilson A. Bentley, taken in 1885, which captured the microscopic details and crystalline structures of actual snowflakes. In 1903 he shared these images with the Smithsonian.
Created by Betty Albert-Licenz, her work is inspired by dreams that is traditionally an important part of her Cree culture. Her art inspires us to experience traditions, action and deep spirituality.
This creative collaboration with the Smithsonian continues with a nod to the ornamental Art Nouveau style, which flourished internationally from the late 1800s thru the early 1900s.
